In partnership with Boston Center for the Arts, Jean Appolon Expressions proudly premieres ANGAJE. Appolon’s signature choreography is set to music by Haitian legend Toto Bissainthe, at the Boston Center for the Arts (539 Tremont St) 8:0pm. The story is inspired by the struggle against homophobia and the power of Haitian folkloric culture in the fight for justice. Reggie Wilson, returns to the Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA) (1oo Northern Ave, Seaport) 8:00pm with his Brooklyn-based Fist and Heel Performance Group performing Moses(es). This will be an evening-length exploration of “how we lead and why we follow,” drawn from influences including Zora Neale Hurston’s Moses, Man of the Mountain; Wilson’s studies of Monotheism, African cultures, and fractal geometry; and trips to Israel, Egypt, Turkey, and Mali.
