President Obama is set to lay out his agenda this year in his State of the Union Address on Tuesday night. And of course, D.C. wouldn’t be D.C. if there weren’t a slew of watch parties.
Here are our favorites:
- 6:30 p.m. – 11 p.m.: Network for Progress is set to host their fifth annual State of the Union Watch Party at Local 16 (1602 U Street NW). Deets!
- 7-10 p.m.: IMPACT and TheRoot are set to host their 2014 State of the Union Watch Party and Panel Discussion at The Washington Post (1150 15th Street NW), featuring panelists Marcia Jackson-Blanco (Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law), Aisha Moodie-Mills (Center for American Progress) and Michael Blake (Green for All). RSVP!
- 8: p.m. – 10:30 p.m.: The Washington Examiner is hosting a State of the Union Bingo Party at The 201 Bar (201 Massachusetts Avenue NE). Examiner reporters Joel Gehrke, Ashe Schow and Kelly Cohen will be helming the evening, where guests are encouraged to bring your own blotter! Guests will also enjoy drink specials all night; the first drink is on the Examiner. Deets!
- 9 p.m.: Head to any Busboys and Poets to watch President Obama’s speech. Their regular food and drink menu will be served throughout the evening.
