During the Q&A portion, Abernathy also discussed Christianity, current musicians and issues such as economics, segregation, racial politics and being a Black man in America.

At the end of the listening sessions, Abernathy and his band Nat Turner played a few selections from his 2016 album Monologue and Dialogue.

The performance aired last Sunday on Sirius XM’s Heart & Soul and next week Abernathy takes his Dialogue on the road to Spain and London.
