Recap: TV One’s VIP Screening of ‘Ringside’ Takes Over Landmark E Street Cinema

TV One along with nationally syndicated radio host Russ Parr, hosted an exclusive screening of Ringside on Tuesday at the Landmark E. Street Cinema in Chinatown.

Media invitees and VIPs filled the theater to see TV One’s latest original film presented by Majic 102.3 and director/writer/producer Parr.

The film features an all-star talented cast: Tyler Lepley (The Haves and the Have Nots), Allen Maldonado (Straight Outta Compton), Julissa Bermudez (Meet the Browns), singer Sevyn Streeter, TeQuan Richmond (Ray, Everybody Hates Chris), Jackie Long, (ATL), radio personality Charlamagne Tha God and of course Parr.

The film follows Jaxon (Lepley), a rising professional fighter who prepares for a big boxing match with the arrogant, egotistical, self-aggrandized, and steroid-taking boxing champion Spencer “Timber” Collier (Maldonado). Timber utilizes every trick in the book to knock Jaxon off his game mentally and physically. Despite Jaxson being a highly-educated, self-motivated and loyal man, he encounters multiple challenges – family drama, groupies, manager with addiction issues and love – all while trying to accomplish the task at hand; winning the middleweight championship title.

Following the screening, Parr hosted a Q&A session with the Ringside cast members in attendance, Bermudez, Moldonado, Long and Lepley.

Ringside premieres on TV One Sunday, Sept. 4 at 7 p.m. ET with an encore presentation at 9 p.m. ET.
