It’s Lauryn Hill‘s comeback and she’s doing it courtesy of Rock the Bells 2010. With iconic performances by Snoop Dogg, A Tribe Called Quest, KRS-One (one of my favs!) and Wu-Tang, let’s be honest, Ms. Hill is the name on everyone’s lips and in New York she didn’t disappoint.

Not only did she bring out her children (Awww! The babies!) she also brought out many big names including Mary J. Blige, Beyonce, Alicia Keys, Swizz Beatz, and Chris Rock.

One of the best stolen moments in the entire show was tweeted by Stephen Hill, an executive at BET:

As much as we often forget, Lauryn Hill isn’t just the sweet faced singer in Sister Act 2. She’s a mother, a woman, someone’s daughter…like, she’s real. And somehow all of the choices that she’s made, her disappearance and her sudden reemergence, seem all to perfect. Hats off Ms. Hill.

In honor of Mexican President Felipe Calderon and his wife Margarita Zavala, the White House rolled out the red carpet last night for their second state dinner. Celebrities like Whoopi Goldberg, Gayle King and Olympian Shani Davis attended the dinner as well as politicos and Washingtonians.

Social Secretary Juliana Smoot smiled and waved at guests arriving before being caught by reporters. Then she quickly busied herself. Also, the big news was Beyonce was to perform at the after-party. Still, reporters were ushered out quickly before the after-party got underway.

If you follow me on twitter then you were the first to know that Beyonce and her band were spotted at the W Hotel hours before her performance on the South Lawn of the White House. Here is Beyonce all dressed up in evening glamour headed to the dinner. We also learned that Jay-Z was spotted at the dinner as well.

The White House just announced that Beyonce will perform at tonight’s White House State Dinner. She will perform along with Rodrigo y Gabriela in a tent on the South Lawn following the dinner.

You will be able to watch the Rodrigo y Gabriela performance on live stream starting at 8:30 p.m. No word yet on if Beyonce‘s performance will be streamed (fingers crossed!).

Beyonce and Jay Z were spotted at the Celtics vs. The Cav’s game this weekend. Looks like the went natural for the game Too bad we lost. I don’t want to talk about it.

R&B’s leading ladies Alicia Keys and Beyonce Knowles performed their rising hit “Put it in a Love Song” at Madison Square Garden this week. Fans went crazy and loved every minute of it, peep the footage below:

Jay-Z has been bragging about having “Obama on the text”. Well, he proved how cool he is with Obama when he and wife Beyonce along with R&B singer Trey Songz stopped by the White House impromptu before performing at the Verizon Center on Wednesday. The crew was joined by Beyonce‘s mother Tina Knowles and music executive Kevin Liles.

Well look who was spotted at the White House on Wednesday, Baltimore native Kevin Liles. The music executive was in town with his client Trey Songz for the BP3 tour that evening. Who knew Kevin Liles was Trey Songz manager? No wonder the boy is blowing up! Beyonce, Jay-Z, and Tina Knowles were also with them.

I wonder if Jigga said to himself, “Hovies home,” when he sat in President Obama’s chair. They all look so giddy, cute!

Jay-Z ended his sold-out concert at the Verizon Center by saying, “I’ve been coming here since Reasonable Doubt and D.C. has always showed me love. For it to be people up into the rafters, this means a lot. I see you.”

All of D.C. came out to support the litmus test of hip-hop, Jay-Z on his “black stage” (word has it Jay forbid anyone on stage to wear anything but black so that could rename the stage the “black stage”). Performing the best songs from his latest album BP3 such as Empire State of Mind (where Roc Nation’s Bridget Kelly sang the hook better than Alicia Keys), Haterz (my personal favorite), and On to the Next.

He also performed his greatest hits including Can I Live, Big Pimpin’, and even Bonnie and Clyde ’03, his duet with wife, Beyonce but she never popped up on stage. Our friends over at The YBF did spot Bey‘s bodyguard Julius in the building so we’re almost positive wifey was in the building.

One of the funniest moments was when a concert go-er Lil Mama’d the stage. Jay‘s million dollar security guy literally threw the guy off the stage in a heartbeat.

Jay had a busy schedule in D.C., visiting President Obama in an unscheduled visit to the White House. Word has it Trey Songz also tagged along for a tour of the Presidential digs.
