This past Sunday afternoon, D’usse brand ambassador Azikiwe Deveaux hosted a power couple brunch honoring some of the city’s most notable stand out husband and wives at Baltimore’s newest black owned hot spot Home Maid ( 1400 Key Highway) .
The afternoon featured a menu curated by D’usse which included infused french toast, chicken and waffles, shrimp, salmon and grits. Everything was absolutely delicious! Our favorite part of the menu was of course the carefully crafted D’usse cocktails for the event; LemonMaid (get it? ha) and Lorraine75.
Home Maid’s quaint feel, made us literally feel right at home. The restaurant while intimate, is very inviting. It’s obvious that each dish is made with love, especially their grandma style homemade biscuits that we all couldn’t get enough of. Couples enjoyed fellowshipping with one another and playing games, one of which had us all impersonating our spouses and it was absolutely hilarious! It was inspiring to see that each couple there was helping the Baltimore and surrounding community thrive in some way.
Some of our favorite fab couples included; Keisha and Jameel McClain, Nick and Marilyn Mosby, and Ashley and D.J. Quicksilva.
“We wanted to honor you all because you set the example willingly,” brand ambassador Azikiwe Deveaux expressed. “You all show how it should be done.”
What a fabulous day and we can’t wait for the next event!
