Recap: Sakerum’s Grand Opening Party Brings Out Adrian Fenty and Other DC VIPs

Sakerum (2204 14th Street NW), a Latin-influenced sushi bar, welcomed more than 150 guests last night to celebrate their grand opening.

Owner Stephanos Andreou and wife/partner Constandina Economides opened the doors to their two-story resto-lounge, welcoming guests such as former D.C. Mayor Adrian Fenty and Echostage and Soundcheck partner Pete Kalamoutsos.

Guests enjoyed passed hors d’oeuvres, including signature sushi rolls and Latin bites while sipping cocktails such as frozen slushies and sake and rum-based libations during the invite-only celebration.

If you’ve never been inside Sakerum, then you’re in for a treat. The space is a nice blend of Asian and Latin cultures thanks to whimsical art, found objects and gilded bird cages. It also features a retractable rooftop on the second floor perfect for private dining.
