During the intimate launch dinner held at Beauty & Essex (146 Essex Street), Dance spoke of the importance for influencers to raise their voices and be taken seriously by the companies who parachute and use our resources.
Michaela Angela Davis, Ebony magazine’s editor-in-chief Kierna Mayo and ColorComm founder Lauren Wesley Wilson also spoke of the need for women to support each other in their various endeavors.
Attendees included bloggers Kela Walker, Renae Bluitt and Ty Alexander, Time, Inc.’s Geneva Thomas, The Root’s Danielle Young and Kim Wilson, Madame Noire’s managing editor Brande Victorian, Atlantic Records’ Joi Pitts and ABC News’ Joi-Marie McKenzie.
