American University’s Entertainment and Media Alumni Alliance hosted an exclusive viewing party with industry leaders from the entertainment, media and political sectors in D.C. to celebrate President Obama’s final appearance at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner — the most high-profile annual social event in the district.
No ticket to the actual dinner? No problem! In fact, the celebration, held at the Hotel Palomar (2121 P. Street NW) in Dupont Circle, was most represented by a wide variety of organizations including ABC News, The Washington Post, Radio One, The Associated Press, NPR and more.
Upon arrival, attendees dressed in “creative casual attire,” were greeted with cocktails and had photos taken by the “paparazzi” with President Obama himself! (Sike; a cardboard cut out. But hey!)
Along with enjoying cocktails, guests enjoyed hors d’oeuvres (which were based off of past WHCD menus) and a live viewing of the red carpet arrivals, as well as, the main event.
It was a great evening during D.C’s annual “Nerd Prom” and a good time was had by all.
