The Root, for the first time ever, held an after party for the annual Phoenix Awards Dinner last Saturday during the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation‘s Annual Legislative Conference. The reception, dubbed “Decadence by Infiniti” was held at Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater (1101 6th Street SW).
The lobby of the theater was transformed into a fabulous and quaint lounge for guests to enjoy signature cocktails, a dessert bar and really great music.
The Root’s publisher Donna Byrd floated through the party, greeting her guests, which included media types such as The Root’s Danielle Belton, Ebony editor Jamilah Lemieux and ABC7 anchor Jummy Olabanji, TV personalities Omarosa Manigault, Paul Wharton and Demetria Lucas D’Oyley along with White House Education head David J. Johns and Vital Voices’ Eniola Mafe.
