You’re Invited: Salute Her: Women Making a Difference Awards at Howard Theatre

Café Mocha Radio, which is celebrating its third anniversary of airing in the DMV, is set to honor eight outstanding women at the “SALUTE HER: Superwomen Making a Difference Awards.”

Hosted by Café Mocha personalities MC Lyte and Angelique Perrin along with a surprise celebrity co-host, the “SALUTE HER” will recognize a diverse group of African-American and Latino women who all share a common commitment to make a positive contribution to strengthen their respective communities.

This year’s honorees include:

  • Sybrina Fulton – Co-Founder of The Trayvon Martin Foundation, Family Legacy Award
  • Omarosa Manigault-Stallworth – TV Personality, Community Activist Award
  • Michel Wright – Radio Personality of MAJIC 102.3 & SiriusXM, Media Innovator Award
  • Stacey Ferguson – Chief Curator of Blogalicious, Mocha Maven Award
  • Triscina Grey – Veteran Radio Personality on WHUR-FM, Media Trailblazer Award
  • Ida Lewis-Polite – President of Ida’s Idea Clothing, Game Changer Award
  • Esther Aguilera  President/CEO Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute, Champion for Change Award
  • Reverend Jo Ann Browning – Co-Pastor of Ebenezer A.M.E. Church, Quiet Fire Award

The “Salute Her: Awards Brunch” will be held on Saturday, July 25, from 12 – 2 p.m. at The Howard Theatre (620 T Street NW).
