Organic Bath Co. is a local skincare line that is growing leaps and bounds in a little over a year. The founders and couple Gianne and Jay have been sharing their fair trade body products throughout New England and beyond.
During their official launch party at Highball Lounge (90 Tremont St), Gianne spoke about experience skin irritation with commercial products and then she decided to do research on her own about the skincare company. She shared what she knew and with Jay’s marketing expertise, they knew they had business model that they could be proud of.
Friends and loyal customers to the brand packed out the intimate space at individual tables that made everyone feel like a VIP with cava on ice and individual appetizers like Highball favorite (and mine) tater tot nachos, fried chick peas, and crab rangoon spring rolls. We also got drink tickets to have expertly mixed mojitos at the bar sponsored with rum by a local distillery. I had to give it to the bartender for muddling like a champ, though he says he’s used to it as all drinks are made to order.
The pampering continued as we tested out a variety of the products. Long time users swear by the face and body oils with the scrubs and body butters coming in at a close second if not equal. All of the products come in natural scents like chocolate, java, mocha, almond, lavender and mint with great names like “Drenched”, “Naked”, “Zesty Morning” and “Stress Less”. During the evening they revealed that all of their packaging is now made of 100% post-consumer recycled plastic, so you can feel even better on your impact on the environment with your purchase. Not to mention, that they’ve kept their products extremely affordable with products starting at only $10.00.
I am prone to irritation, but I still tried and loved them (plus I didn’t break out!). I especially liked the “Naked” body scrub that smells like freshly ground almonds. I also really liked the “Stress Less” oil that has the relaxing scent of lavender. Both of which will be great add ins to my beauty care regimen.
It was a great night for supporting an ethical and quality brand.
