Recap: I Don’t Do Clubs’ ‘Must Love Beards’ Party at Stage 48

Hundreds of women trekked to Stage 48 (605 West 48th Street) on Saturday afternoon for I Don’t Do Clubs’ second #MustLoveBeards Day Party.

The event, which in a odd twist was free for men and $20 for women, was hosted by a number of men with the fuzzy stuff on their chins, including Chris Classic and Ebony Magazine‘s Cory Townes.

Admittedly, I didn’t know if a day party where women had to pay would be popping. But I Don’t Do Clubs proved that women got their own too.

By 6 p.m., Stage 48’s first level was wall to wall packed. Although it was high 70s on Saturday, inside felt even hotter. It didn’t help that the air conditioning seemed to be on low.

Still, if you came to stand on the wall, this party wasn’t for you. People were actually dancing thanks to the deejay. (Sorry, didn’t get his name!) He played my favorite, Fetty Wap‘s “Trap Queen,” but played “Swag Surf” two times in twenty minutes. What for?! For the next party, I hope Austin Millz gets back on the 1s and 2s.

And ladies, there were tons of men with amazing beards (and many amazing men without.)

I can’t wait to see what IDDC does next! Congrats Genese!
