Beginning today, The Shops at Prudential Center (800 Boylston St) are launching a FREE weekly fitness series, FIT on The Garden, beginning Wednesday, May 6. Starting at 5:30pm every Wednesday through June 24, participants will be led through a 45-60 minute workout by some of Boston’s top instructors from lululemon, FlyBarre, and Boston Sports Club. This week features luluemon. Pre-registration is SOLD OUT, but don’t worry, they will accept walk-in registration as available. See the complete schedule here!

Discuss The Art’s community at Where’s the Art? at the Boston Center for the Arts (539 Tremont St, South End) 5:30pm. This event brings together artists, architects and place makers who’ll give examples of their work and discuss the spectrum of practices in public art…and the gaps in between. Panelists include Cedric Douglas, Liz Nofziger, Megan McMillan and Rob Trumbour
with moderator Kate Gilbert, Now and There director. This event is FREE and open to the public. The event is currently SOLD OUT, but you can check back for updates and get on the waitlist here!

Fab Award-Nominee DJ Nomadik tonight hosts a tribute to Tina Marie & Rick James at Bella Luna (284 Armory St, Jamaica Plain) Featuring Miss Genevieve as Teena Marie backed by Sista Dee & Dis N Dat Band. Sign up for the open mic starting at 9:30pm. Space is limited. $5.00 before 10:00pm. This is a 21+ event.

The Food Project (555 Dudley St, Roxbury) invites you to join them at the Dudley Greenhouse 11:00am – 2:00pm for their annual seedling and garden supply sale! Buy vegetable, herb, flower seedlings to start your garden, as well as compost, fertilizer, fish emulsion, stakes and trellis clips, gardening manuals, and more to keep it healthy. Children are welcome! They will be able to make seed art along with members of the Dirt Crew.

Join the Epsilon Gamma Lambda Chapter of Alpha Alpha Fraternity Inc. and the Sigma Gamma Rho Alumnae Chapter at Savvor (180 Lincoln St) 6:00pm – 9:00pm for networking and socializing. Suggested donation is $20.00, and all proceeds will go to their March of Dimes fundraiser.

Get Focused on ReadingSaturday, May 9th

The Boston Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. would like to invite Boston middle and high school aged children to attend the My Life Matters! Youth Summit at The Wheelock College, Campus Center (200 Riverway) 8:30am – 3:30pm. Participants will gain tips on how to select and apply to college, meet STEM professionals, sharpen financial literacy, participate in raffles, receive prizes and more! Light breakfast and lunch will be provided. This is a FREE event, but the completion of an online application is required, for seating is limited.

Get fit for FREE at the Ink Block (300 Harrison Ave, South End) 10:00am – 11:00am at their ShrINK @ Ink Piates Bootcamp. Just bring yourself , some water, a towel and be ready to work out. RSVP here so that they know you are coming!

Get Focused On Reading with children and families at the West End House Boys and Girls Club (105 Allston St, Allston) 12:00pm – 3:00pm. Enjoy a fun filled and educational experience, in which they will learn the power of reading through the positive influence of health and fitness. Turns out you don’t have to go all the way to DC to celebrate the cherry blossom season. Instead, you can go to the Genki Spark & Brookline High School Japanese Program’s 4th Annual Brookline Cherry Blossom Festival at Brookline High School (115 Greenough St, Brookline) 12:00pm – 3:00pm. There will be dance, taiko, and eating for the Japanese celebration of cherry blossoms and the arrival of spring!
