Last Sunday in Georgetown, supporters, lovers of books and authors attended the myBOOKbag launch that took place at newly renovated Maxime DC (2915 M Street NW).
myBOOKbag was created by Jessica Greenhill after she was inspired to create a platform for independent authors when her sister was having difficulties circulating books she had written. For a monthly fee of $30 ($25 for children), myBOOKbag members will receive a bag filled with 2-3 books each month.
The launch also highlighted four creatives: spoken word artist Edward Norman and three authors, Mumen Ngenge, Tamra Sease and Jessica, herself.
Guests enjoyed passed hors d’oeuvres, wine and myBOOKbag items such as branded mini notebooks, stickers and bookmarks. In addition, some lucky winners were gifted by Cory Brim, author of “Never Give Up”, BET Networks and Centric TV.
