It’s one of my favorite times in Washington, D.C. When those beautiful pink cherry blossoms bloom around the Tidal Basin. Thanks Japan! Find out how you can best enjoy the Japanese Cherry Blossom trees, and other events to keep you busy this weekend.
Friday, March 20
- There’s tons of events during Cherry Blossom season, but the best (and most inexpensive) way to enjoy the season is paddle boats. From March 20 through April 12, head to Tidal Basin Boathouse (1501 Maine Avenue SW) to get in a boat, and enjoy the sites. The boats open at 10 a.m. and ends at 12 p.m. The lines are always extremely long so get there early.
Saturday, March 21
- Enjoy an art showcase featuring Aaron Maybin, Rik and Linshuttr at “Curation: Art, Music, and Libations” inside Capitale (1301 K Street NW). Enjoy drink specials and the sounds of Johnny Graham & The Groove along with DJ Right Touch. RSVP!
- Join the AKAs and the Ivy Foundation at “Madness in March: Men Who Cook,” an event featuring delicious food and NCAA basketball. The event, from 4-7 p.m., is being held inside the U.S. Navy Memorial Building (701 Pennsylvania Avenue NW). Get tickets!
