Let’s all let out a collective, “Nooooooo!” together. U Street’s Jamaican hot spot, Patty Boom Boom (1359 U St. NW), is set to close later this month.
They announced the news on , saying:
Dear all Patty Boom Boom lovas, February 21, 2015, we will close. Please catch all your favorite DJ’s for their last sets this month. Patty Boom Boom will “pop-up” in the Spring during Memorial Day weekend on Restaurant Marvin’s Deck and Den of Thieves DC!
I guess the only consolation is that a new spot is opening in its place — Cloak and Dagger. So far there’s not much information on the new place except that its a “lounge/speak easy.” The concept makes sense since the Hilton brothers are also responsible for some our favorite locales, Marvin’s and The Gibson.
I still can’t help but think does D.C. need yet another speak easy? I guess we’ll find out either way. I sure will miss those beef patties though…
