VH1 continued its series of concerts, the Super Bowl Blitz, with TLC last night at Beacon Theatre in Manhattan. VH1’s only concert in the city didn’t disappoint.
Special guests and media were treated to an open bar before the concert started, along with little goodie bags of popcorn and peanut M&Ms.
By 9 p.m., TLC took the stage with their hype background dancers. And for the next 90 minutes, T-Boz and Chili performed the best of their catalog.
TLC performed “Ain’t 2 Proud 2 Beg,” “What About Your Friends,” “Silly Ho,” “Hat 2 Da Back,” “Baby, Baby, Baby,” “Diggin’ on You,” “Red Light Special,” “Creep,” “Damaged” (which they could’ve done without), “Unpretty,” “Waterfalls,” and “Meant 2 Be.”
Half-way, Doug E. Fresh hopped out onstage to do what he always does, beatbox and a little dougie.
Another special moment was during “Waterfalls” when ballerina Misty Copeland performed with the Boys Choir of Harlem.
