Thursday, December 5th

kerry-washingtonThe Massachusetts Women’s Conference is taking place today at the Boston Convention Center (415 Summer St) 7:30am – 5:00pm. Tickets have been sold out for a while, but there are a few free tickets floating around – check Instagram and Facebook pages for last minute cancellations. Key notes are Kerry Washington (via satellite, due to her pregnancy), Robin Roberts, and Leymah Gbowee (Liberian Peace Activist Nobel Peace Prize Winner – documentary “Pray the Devil Back to Hell). Goorin Bros. (130 Newbury St) hat shop is hosting a Repeal of Prohibition party commemorating the 80th year of the reapeal of prohibition from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. The speakeasy-themed event will showcase Goorin’s new Repeal of Prohibition collection, as well as the Bonnie & Clyde-inspired hats Goorin provided for A&E Network’s forthcoming Bonnie & Clyde miniseries. 1920s-inspired booze, food, music and fashion (hint: whisper code “Scofflaw” will land you a secret cocktail!). Guests can peruse Goorin’s latest releases of wide-brim fedoras, luxurious knits and fine flat caps plus much more—including the new Repeal of Prohibition collection. Have a good ol’ fashioned Game Night at the Bowdoin Family Health Center (230 Bowdoin St) starts at 6:00pm. Free food, Free entry, free raffle prizes. This event is family friendly.

Tonight is the Boston Music Awards at The Liberty Hotel (215 Charles St) starting at 7:00pm where the music community of Boston comes out to put their shine on to benefit Music Drives Us  an organization that provides funding for music education programs.
