Recap: Hotel Noir, a Crimson Centennial Celebration, at Howard Theatre

Inside D.C.’s famed Howard Theatre in the U Street corridor, members of Delta Sigma Theta, black greeks and party people gathered for a late night party in honor of the sorority’s Centennial.

With DJ D Nice on the wheels, perched atop a riser to give him a perfect view of the crowd, people danced and even party walked. D Nice — one of my favorite deejays in the world — played a mix of old school, those Michael Jackson classics, and that dirty south ratchet music that got the crowd hype.

Grey Goose models milled about offering free shots of something red, perhaps a nod to the Deltas.

And after all was said and done, guests were treated to a Grey Goose giftbag, which was a perfect touch. The giftbags included the necessities, especially those there for convention, as it had Grey Goose portable flat shoes. The giftbag also included a drink shaker and silver sticks perfect for garnishing your ‘tini.
