It’s light out for Free in the morning at WPGC-FM 95.5. The longtime media personality’s last day was Wednesday and she posted this farewell on Twitter:
One person notably missing from her farewell tweet is new morning show host Pablo…but hey we could be reaching. A DC Fab! insider did hear that Free’s departure had nothing to do with budget cuts however and they already snatched Free from the WPGC.com website. Ouch. Instead, Sunni has joined Pablo in the mornings.
Free, we love you! And wish you the best of luck on all of your future endeavors!

@ A: dont be ethnicist. Pablo is from Hawaii, so he could be Asian or Samaon. Sunni is Bosnian, so I guess that she is Anglo.

Something is wrong with this station. They are always in a state of instability. I stopped listening when Rico, Donnie, and Robin even Tigger were sent packing. What are they looking for? Sad. Management may need an efficiency expert, a demographics expert, or just a basic sense of “knowing what the listeners want”.

Just Disappointed. I drive in from Delaware to Andrews at 5:30 a.m every morning. It’s tough when the station goes through so many changes w/i 24 months. You get used to certain people, and poof, they’re gone. Get it together PGC…

@A they do not want to be 93.9`s Urban twin(any longer) I mean look at the playlist. The playlist is not as white as some are stating the stations sound is just something that people in the area are just not use to now. They are trying to be a cross between 93.9 and 995 in the middle Urban/pop. The ratings system has changed on PGC and they are trying to find there place in this new radio world. If they are going to have” The Pablo Show” as there morning show they need to stick with it and the format as well and keep it moving. IMO its not a bad thing that they are not trying to be a carbon copy of WKYS anymore.

Personally, I despise the morning show now and I don’t listen anymore. I rather listen to Steve Harvey. Pablo is a disrespectful corn ball and he is not funny at all. Very bad move by WPGC….drops the mic and exits stage left!

When I was employed I would switch between “Free’s” show, Russ Parr, and Steve during my morning commute. I had an appt this morning and looked forward to catching up with my shows and got nervous when I didn’t hear my girl Free. I knew something was terribly wrong and my search landed me on this page. The show is a train wreck. No chemistry between the crew members. Nonstop chatter about nothing and Guy and Pablo are so damn dry. They should just fire the whole crew and just play nonstop music because those people will piss you off on your way to a job you probably hate anyway.

Free was the only reason I continued to listen to WPGC after Tigger got the boot! I definitely do not care for Pablo or Sunni. Both of these individuals have a very dry sense of humor and WPGC doesn’t have to worry about me listening to them during my morning drive! Best wishes to Free- girl I know you will be just fine!

This station is in the pits. They change the personalities like most change clothes. Oh well, Ms Free was the only reason I listened to the station. Now that she is gone I need to find a suitable replacement. Those jacks they got on there now are not happening at all. Well I guess foreigners need a station to call their own also.

Its a wrap. I’m done with 95.5 all together. I’m better off with 93.9 and 99.5, and my new subscription to Sirium XM. Feels like WPGC sold out and no one can identify with these newbies. Good luck with those rating. We have enough POP/top 40s playing. Do your research..

I will miss Free but mark my words they will go to another change within the next three to six months this will be due all to ratings…..you have to look at longs radio stations and believe me its not those who love the opening scene but they truly love the urban money so if you want your voice to be heard send your concerns to the radio station owners or whomever the media bloodsuckers are

Wow, I agree with several previous posts. I liked the old PGC, it was cross between WHUR(96.3) and KYS (93.9). Same music as 93.9 w/o the ghetto-fabulousness from the DJs. Now it’s just too white for me. The solution of trying not to be a carbon copy of 93 was not to become a carbon copy of 99.5. The topics are no longer interesting and those DJs…… well let’s just stay tuned for the up and coming changes….. or NOT

Wow they’ve really whitened up the station, first the music then the hosts. Pablo and Free never had any chemistry and Pablo just sounded white on the air. I’m sure he’s a great guy, but I thought it was the wrong station for him. But looks like the station no longer wants to be 93.9 urban twin, but maybe 99.1 white friend.
