Spotted: Oscar Nominated Quvenzhané Wallis at The White House

Sitting pretty in pink, 9-year-old Oscar nominee Quvenzhané Wallis visited the White House Thursday for a “Beasts of the Southern Wild” movie workshop in the State Dining Room.

First Lady Michelle Obama hosted dozens of middle and high school students from D.C. and New Orleans to screen and discuss the film in which little Q stars in.

“It’s rare these days to find a movie that can so completely and utterly captivate such a broad audience and that was one of the things that struck me about this movie,” the first lady said. “It managed to be beautiful, joyful and devastatingly honest.”
