Do you plan to dress up this Halloween? The spooky holiday comes on hump day and while you may not feel like trick or treating, you can still get in the holiday spirit with a Halloween inspired cocktail at some of D.C.’s best bars.
Try the Misty Mummy at Capitale (1301 K St. NW). Made with black, gin fizz topped with green froth. $12/$10 during happpy hour.
Or if gin isn’t your spirit of choice, try the Bruja Brew, a specialty tequila cocktail smoked with applewood and peppercorn. It also includes splashes of lime juice, syrup and cointreau, complete with dry ice. $12/$10 during happy hour.
901 (901 9th St. NW)is one of my favorite spots in the District and they’ve cooked up the The Bloody Bang – a bellini of sorts as it features Emperor Imperial champagne and raspberry puree. $11.
The Midnight Aura, also on their cocktail menu, centers on Belvedere with splashes on fresh lemon, home-spiced Asian pear puree, ginger and lemon bitters.
Lastly, The Public Tenley (4611 41st St. NW)seemed to be the spot that took the most literal approach with its Halloween cocktail. The Wicked Witch PUBLIC Apple Punch is a vodka-based cocktail with cider and fruit juice. $10
Be sure to head to these locations for a mid-week buzz and tell them DC Fab! sent you. Drink responsibly!
