Howard University‘s Homecoming kicked off with Dream Day, an inspirational day of panels and seminars created by the Young Dreamers Movement, Inc (The YDM). The first ever Dream Day featured panels and seminars with celebrities and industry experts who all followed their dreams.
Later in the evening Howard students learned from the Young Dreamers panel featuring Elton Anderson (Celebrity Photographer), Angela and Vanessa Simmons (Founders of Pastry), Issa Rae (creator of “MIsadventures of Awkward Black Girl”), Necole Kane (NecoleBitchie) and celebrity fashion stylist Toye Adedipe.
A later panel featuring Jamie Foster Brown (Sister 2 Sister Magazine), Datwon Thomas (Vibe Magazine), Amir Windom (Music Executive), Derek ‘LA’ Jackson (The Glu Agency), Ericka Dotson (Indique Hair) and Aleta Anderson (Executive Producer of Miss Black America Pageant) also informed students.
The YDM will take Dream Day on the road to colleges and high schools across the country– expect to see more from these young dreamers!
