The Fab Empire had the pleasure of attending the New York premiere of Iyanla Vanzant‘s “Fix My Life,” which airs on OWN. Held inside a private room at Pranna, guests such as Gayle King, Star Jones, Mona Scott Young and June Ambrose watched the premiere episode of “Fix My Life.”
“OWN is doing a television show. I’m doing a healing,” Iyanla told the intimate gathering of about 40 guests.
After the screening and dinner, Iyanla answered questions from the audience, including one from Star Jones who pondered aloud how to deal with negative programming that show African American women in a bad light.
Still, one of the most enlightening parts of the evening was when a guest asked Iyanla how did she know Evelyn Lozada‘s marriage was in trouble. Number one, Chad Johnson — her now estranged husband — was supposed to film with them. His canceling at the last minute was telling to Iyanla. Also, she questioned why Evelyn would accept Chad’s proposition to get married when he wasn’t promising to clean up his cheating ways. “”A man who is not accountable to anyone is a danger to himself,” she told the crowd.
