:sings: I had the time of my life! (Was that corny enough for you?)

Thanks so much to the 300 socialites, celebrities, politicos and tastemakers who came to Recess Lounge last night for The Fab Empire’s fifth anniversary soiree. Nestled in the White House corridor, fabulous guests strolled in to celebrate over five years of critiquing events, covering parties and informing young professionals of the best events in their cities.

Local celebrities and notables including syndicated radio personality Big Tigger, ABC7’s Jummy Olabanji, WPGC’s Sunni, media personality Jawn Murray, WKYS’s D.J. Quicksilva, R&B singer Alison Carney and the National Director for CÎROC Ultra Premium Vodka, Nick Storm, showed up to support. Also, BET’s Angel Elliott, celebrity Chef Huda, publicist Whitney Stringer, Qream ambassador Yodit Grebreyes and media personality Vic Jagger were also in the building, to name of few! To put it concretely, it was a room full of bold names!

Guests enjoyed complimentary signature cocktails courtesy of CÎROC Vodka, Qream Liqueur and Coors Light. DJ Heat, celebrity deejay and producer of the Pablo & Free Morning Show on WPGC-FM 95.5 provided the evening’s soundtrack.

VIP guests were also among the first in the District to taste Recess Lounge’s new tapas menu, curated by Venezuelan born and Institution of Art trained chef Will Vivas. Guests enjoyed Fried Plantain with Guacamole, Crab Cakes, Grilled Asparagus, Skewers of Chicken and Garlic Shrimp.

The evening also celebrated the life of Gary Richards, the D.C. ambassador for Ciroc, who lost his life earlier this year. Gary’s legacy was definitely in the building, as Ciroc presented his wife Kelley a check from all of the fundraising efforts they have done to honor his life.

Guests also left with a bag of goodies from local and national sponsors including the Afro American Newspaper, AJ + Lola, Coors Light, CoverGirl Queen Collection, Curbside Cupcakes, Diva State of Mind, Organic Root Stimulator, Gigee Marie Handbags, La Femme Chic, My Fitness Bootcamps, Nival Salon and Spa, Proctor and Gamble, RedSprinkle, Shea Radiance, Studio 85, and Vita Coco.
