Spike Lee is back with the latest in his Chronicles of Brooklyn series, Red Hook Summer. Centered on a young boy from Atlanta who goes to live with his preaching grandad for the summer, Red Hook Summer is a film about wounds, healing, religion and gentrification. To say too much would be to spoil it.
Still, the New York City premiere of Red Hook Summer went down in New York last night at the DGA Theater. Spike’s friends, including Mike Tyson (Spike is currently directing his one-man stage play on Broadway), Laila Ali and rapper Cassidy all came to support.
