The 14th Annual Forest Hills Lantern Festival takes place at 95 Forest Hills Ave, as a celebration of honoring the elders. It is a time when neighbors come together to share stories, celebrate, and honor the memories of loved ones. Enjoy traditional Japanese dance from students of Showa Boston, Irish music from guitar and fiddle duo the Whiskey Boys, Chinese dragon dance from Gund Kwok and Grand Master Tsuji’s Taiko drummers.
Musiq Soulchild comes to the Showcase LIVE in Foxboro (23 Patriot Place). Tickets start at $26.00 and can be purchased here! Show stars around 8:00pm.

Celebrate Africa! At the African Festival at City Hall Plaza. The celebrations start at 9am and go through until 9 p.m. Enjoy diverse music, drum call parade, African-style face painting, African fashion, and health and wellness. This event is FREE and family friendly!
Arts in the Park is a celebration of the artist community in Boston. Join them at Washington Park in Roxbury with music by Deejay Nomadik and hosted by Mark Merren. There will be food, live painting and live performances!
Sunday, July 15th
Local artist Joy Daniels (joyforthepeople) is rasing funds for the #JoyAfterThe Rain Album & Tour by having a party at Laced (569 Columbus Ave). With performances by Joy Daniels & Serenity Tree, Smithsoneon and DeeJay Sha Sha. All ages are welcome! 6pm – 9pm. They are requesting a $10 – $15 donation which includes FREE food, prizes and raffles.
Gospel Artist Kim Burrell will take over City Hall Plaza this weekend at the Gospel Fest from 5pm – 8pm. Local gospel artists Katani Sumner, Melody Laure, and Ayana McDonald will also be performing. This event is FREE and family friendly! Bring your own chair.
