Sources say a man was chased down and shot Thursday night outside of Ibiza Nightclub (1222 First Street NE).
Rapper Cash Out was performing and apparently owners of the northeast nightclub told local rappers that they could perform. But, when one local rapper didn’t perform he allegedly confronted security guards and brandished a weapon. Eyewitnesses then say the alleged shooter chased the security guard’s friend down to Fur Nightclub’s parking lot where he shot him.
Sources say police have the suspect in custody, although DC Fab! hasn’t been able to independently find the police report. We’re working on that.
In the mean time, officials have closed Ibiza Nightclub for the next 96 hours.
Promoter Dominique Moxey confirmed the club’s closing earlier, saying:
The article describes Ibiza as a “southeast nightclub”. It’s in Northeast DC. An innocent enough mistake, but southeast DC does not need any additional negative affiliation. Thanks.
