Wale is set to reopen the historic Howard Theater (620 T Street NW) on April 9 with a standing-room only concert.
Howard Theater, known as the “Theater of the People” opened in 1910. Known for introducing D.C. audiences to legendary acts including Duke Ellington and Ella Fitzgerald, today the theater boasts a line-up including The Roots, comedian Wanda Sykes, Alice Smith (one of my favs!), Chuck Brown, Meshell Ndegeocello, Bilal, Chaka Khan, Amel Larrieux, Ziggy Marley and Boys II Men.
Will Howard Theater offer competition to the newly opened Fillmore in Silver Spring and the 9:30 Club just minutes away?
