Dr. West spoke to over 500 attendees and held a sign that said: “Poverty is the Greatest Violence of All.”
He also claimed that “Martin King,” if he were alive today would be protesting with him. He denounced a “leaderless-leader-filled movement” where people are “finding their own political voices rather than echoing others.”
While Dr. West paid tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King‘s legacy by protesting, other “Civil Rights leaders,” including Jesse Jackson and Rev. Al Sharpton attended the unveiling of the MLK Memorial, which took place on the same day.
