It’s an acapella singing competition on NBC called “The Sing Off,” hosted by Nick Lachey and judged by artists and musicians. So, it was only a matter of time before the District got their time to shine.
Howard University’s longtime singing group Afro Blue was featured on the show and wowed the judges with their rendition of Corrinne Bailey Rae’s “Put Your Records On.” The group also received a standing ovation from the crowd.
“Class. Style. Slick. Smooth. Effortless and fun,” former Boys II Men singer Shawn Stockman said of their performance. “And Christy, your voice feels like warm butter on grits.”
Watch for yourself!
