The National Coalition on Black Civic Participation held their 14th annual “Spirit of Democracy Black and White Gala” Wednesday night at the Renaissance Hotel in the District. Star Jones served as the mistress of ceremonies. She even gave everyone in attendance a copy of her latest book “Satan’s Sisters.”
Rev. Al Sharpton, president of the National Action Network, along with Wade Henderson, Minyon Moore, Yelberton Watkins, Dennis Van Roekel and Randi Weingarten were honored for their commitment and support of the organization’s mission to make civic participation a cultural responsibility and tradition.
Political analyst Jamal Simmons and our favorite girl from Living Single Erica Alexander came out to support.
