What do you do on Cinco de Mayo? Drink magaritas!
We’ll find any reason to celebrate huh? Well, today is Cinco de Mayo, which apparently is not Mexico’s Independence Day. I’m totally confused (shrugs). Still, there are plenty spots around the District that are getting into the spirit.
Here are our party picks in the District to make sure you make the most out of Cinco de Mayo!
- Start Cinco de Mayo off early with cheap drink specials starting at 4 p.m. At Queen Makeda (1917 9th Street NW) enjoy $2 Margarita Jello Shots, $3 Toxic Coronas , $4 Cuervo Shots and $6 Patron Shots. Also, enjoy a free taco bar from 6 p.m. until it runs out.
- If you’re really trying to get into the Mexican spirit, head to a brand new restaurant opening today! It’s called El Centro DF (1819 14th Street) and it’s three floors of Me-hi-co! Feel free to dine with a great menu of tacos to short ribs or enjoy their Tequileria, which stocks 200 tequilas and mezcals.
- Enjoy $1 Don Julios and Dos Equis tonight at Bar 7 (1015 1/2 7th Street NW). The fun starts at 5 p.m.
