Four men were stabbed around 1 a.m. Saturday morning inside Bourbon Street nightclub (316 Guilford Avenue), and one of the four has died as a result of the injuries. The other three victims were transported to local hospitals and are expected to live. The club held two events on Friday evening, “Ladies Night” in the ballroom and the “Zombie Strippers and Beer event.”
Local partygoers reported that they’re not sure what happened last night, but it must’ve happened fast. Attendee Fred Marvin told the Baltimore Sun:
“It was a very frightening experiencing,” he said.Marvin added that when he was entering the club, no one checked him for weapons. “We just walked right in,” he said. “I’m pretty sure I wasn’t the only one.”He called the club “unsafe” and said he’d never go back.
No word on if Bourbon Street will continue business as usual for the remainder of the weekend. Homicide detectives are still investigating. I must say I will be interested to see if Bourbon Street gets treated the same way that Velvet Rope and Select Lounge did.

Glad it was white venue? It was ladies night at the ballroom, 99% black. The quarter next door with 99% whites didn’t even have a single fight that night.

It doesn’t matter who was throwing the party or what “color” the people was—this is still just ridic!

I think they should keep the black crowd out from now on— stuff like this wouldn’t happen.

@MK sorry to inform you that it’s not 1964, what you suggested is against the law. This is another crazy situation and it’s obviously a continual problem in Baltimore, either people need to start enforcing stricter rules and stop being so greedy for money or close the establishment since people cannot conduct themselves properly in public.

Who wants to help MK understand that his comment was ignorant? Ok I’ll do it…MK…shut the f*ck up!

Anytime that something bad happens in baltimore nightlife –it’s related to black people. FACT. So you STFU!
by MK
Lets get something straight. Whenever alcohol is involved, violence is bound to happen. Sit at any bar anywhere, and regardless of whether it’s a black crowd, white crowd, yellow crowd…whatever…a bar fight is bound to happen.
What we need are two things:
a. More bouncers (and qualified ones)
b. People checking for weapons at the door
I’ve been to many shows in my lifetime, and this is something I have noticed. In the past, people would pat down pockets to search for weapons. Now and days, I can’t think of a single club that searches for weapons.

I can’t remember the last time I was searched for weapons going into a Bmore club. A life shouldn’t end at a party man. Makes no damn sense

Staple nightlife venues in this city seem to all be having the same problem and no one is doing anything about it. How many more people have to die until we get that?

I can confirm DJ Infame’s statement – DJ Infame was DJ’ing my party at Eden’s Lounge that night.
And this is not an issue of “Black Promoters” – e4gp will be 10 years incident-free in October and we plan to celebrate our 10 year anniversary at Bourbon Street with another incident-free event.
Stay positive – Be blessed.

Question for E4GP? I think that it’s wonderful that you have had successful events as well as incident free events. However, because you are one of the big promoters in Bmore, what are you (as well as the other big promoters) doing to help prevent situations from occurring? I understand that we are all adults here and you are responsible of the positive success of your own events. You also have no control of the actions of others. However, what are you and the other party promoters of Bmore doing collectively to ensure the safety of the patrons that comes to support your events (I am sure you can’t speak for other promoters but I wanted to see if it has been thought about as a collaborative effort or individual effort)?
Additionally, I agree with Mike. It’s like the old adage, it takes a village to raise a child. With many promoters having such a selfish attitude (quantity vs. quality), this will continue to be an issue. I don’t understand why most Bmore promoters don’t hire security at their events? Some DC clubs have metal detectors and pat downs. When will Bmore take note?
As for MK, I’m sorry you feel the way you do. Crime happens everywhere and does not discriminate. Due to the nature of the crime and the people involved in the crime (i.e. race, socioeconomic status, etc.), a story may not get as much media attention (if any at all). Also remember, sensationalism as well as racism is still alive and well. Sad but true! Instead of complaining or making racist statements MK, what are you doing to make a difference?

I have been to plenty of music events at bourbon, every single time I and everyone else is searched thoroughly. Of the people who typically attend these events more than 90% of them are white. The staff at bourbon is looking for drugs. The staff will take the drugs to resell them or bribe people for money. Why was nobody searched as this particular event and yet every show I attend has increasing security at the door each time? Four people stabbed, one killed. Someone isn’t doing their job.

I WAS next door dressed up for zombies strippers and beer because of some idiot our show got cut short and our money.

SMH Baltimore, we’ve got to do better. I’m just glad it was white promoters and a white venue this time.
