Academy Award-nominated actress and Howard University alum Taraji P. Henson will be honored by her alma mater on Saturday, March 12 at the Charter Day 87th Gala Dinner. Henson will be honored along with six other alumni will also be recognized at then annual Charter Day Convocation at 11 a.m. Friday, March 11, in Cramton Auditorium.
Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed will deliver the keynote address marking the University’s 144th anniversary.
The special awards honors alum who have excelled in their respective fields. Charter Day is a time of celebration because it marks the approval of the charter that founded the University in 1867.
