Despite frigid temperatures and an unorganized door (the doorman’s hands were so frozen he couldn’t even check names off of the list fast enough), New York’s insiders came out to Hiro Ballroom to taste Absolut’s latest flavor: Wild Tea.
The third largest vodka retailer in the world has been busy drumming up new flavors. Last year, they released three other flavors including Absolut Brooklyn, made famous by Spike Lee who helped launch the flavor, as well as Absolut Berry Açaí and Absolut Watkins.
The latest flavor, Wild Tea, has notes of black tea, elderflower, red apples and citrus. We tried the new vodka with ginger beer, which was refreshing but my favorite specialty cocktail was the Wild Tea with simply syrup and lime.
Inside the launch party at Hiro Ballroom, rope dancers hung above the crowd, swinging, twirling and spinning (think Pink at the MTV Awards). Also, flame throwers showed up half way through the night to entertain guests.
Hiro Ballroom, with it’s Asian accents was the perfect backdrop for a tea-flavored evening.
If you’d like to try your own Wild Tea cocktail, try this fab! recipe:
