In recent weeks, the club formally known as Velvet Rope (200 W. Redwood) has announced a new look and a new name. The name of the club will now be, Dubai Nightclub. Many of you inquired why the name was changing and we couldn’t think of anyone better to ask then the number one source, manager/owner Tracye Stafford.
BmoreFab: Why did you decide to change the name of the club from Velvet Rope to Dubai?
Tracye: So much happened in 2010 and we were ready to put it behind us. This is a fresh start, it’s time for something new.
BmoreFab: Will you still be working with the same promoters and d.j.’s ?
Tracye: There will be some old faces, but new faces as well. We have a lot in store.
BmoreFab: We hear you have a reality show in the works?
Tracye: Yes, we’ve actually shot two episodes. It’s based around my life as a promoter in the nightlife scene. We have a few networks who have said they’re interested. We’ll see!
BmoreFab: Will the name change again?
Tracye: Well like Diddy says, “when too many people start to know your name, change it again, and again, and again.”
Dubai Nightclub will have it’s grand opening this Friday, January 21st.
Didnt Dubai have a financial crisis after the US underwent a recession? Why is the club named after that city…wompness.
