Velvet Rope (200 E. Redwood) is officially closing it’s doors at the start of the new year. Reportedly the club will now be named “Dubai” and is promising to bring something new and exciting to charm city. Tracye Stafford, the clubs co-manager will still be in charge. She always brings the FAB, so we can’t wait to see what’s next.
How many times can they revamp this club? Sheesh

I agree Ty. I haven’t gone to this place since the days of Redwood Trust (if yall remember that). Where are the grown upscale spots, that’s what’s needed in the city!

re-open it under a new name, just to let the hood back in? i hope not! if i was just owner id make it super upscale and give the professionals a place to go without having to be stuffed in edens lounge or red maple. this could be baltimores Love night club

Yea I remember Redwood Trust, wowsers! I think Select Lounge is doing a pretty good job with offering an upscale place for the adults to party.

Love the new name, sounds more upscale and with Tracye still running it is always a GREAT look because she’s a great business woman! On behalf of the Union Entertainment (#1 College Promotional Team in the DMV) I would like to say it will be a pleasure to bring the noise to “Dubai”!!
