Last night, Def Jam labelmates, celebrities and the Manhattan elite partied with Ne-Yo thanks to Moet & Chandon Nectar Imperial Rose champagne inside Lavo.
While Ne-Yo promoted his latest album Libra Scale, he also performed two songs off of the latest album including “Champagne Life” and “One in a Million”. One song even had former umbrella toter Fonzworth Benthley dancing on couches.
This was Ne-Yo‘s first public appearance since the birth of his newborn Madilyn Grace last week. The singer said it was tough getting back on the road so soon, “It was definitely hard to leave this morning. At the same time, I still got to get back out there.”
And that he did. Ne-Yo took pictures with fans, signed autographs and gave hugs inside Lavo last night.
R&B singer Ashanti congratulated the new dad on the red carpet saying, “Congratulations, you’re a new dad, new album — the timing is perfect.” She also told NY Fab! that she’s currently back in the studio working on a new album.
Other celebrities we spotted included singers Karina Pasian, Hal Linton, actor Anthony Mackie, and radio personality Egypt who partied hard during DJ D-Nice‘s Michael Jackson set.
