Players from the National Basketball Association and National Football League participated in “Bowl for Haiti,” last Saturday at Lucky Strike. The event raised over $5,000 and brought awareness to the Center of Hope for Haiti.
The NBA’s Kevin Durant (Oklahoma City); Chris Paul (New Orleans); Andray Blatche (Washington); Richard Hamilton (Detroit); Baron Davis (LA Clippers), Chauncey Billups (Denver); Etan Thomas (Oklahoma City); Roger Mason (New York) along with the NFL’s Carlos Rogers (Washington) and Brian Westbrook (Philadelphia) attended the celebrity bowling match held at Lucky Strike. Fans teamed with players in a friendly competition for an Apple iPad.
“This event [is] about awareness,” Laron Profit told the crowd of about 200 people. “There are still so many people suffering right now, and we cannot forget that.”
