Last night, in an effort to help the tragedy in Haiti, several members from the DMV social community came together on U Street to brainstorm a plan. Shout out to Yodit of Talk of DC for leading the charge.
On Sun., January 17 at Busboys & Poets (2021 14th St NW), the “DMV Helps Haiti” initiative will kick off to continue to support aid efforts in Haiti.
During the event, there will be an open mic for people to express their feelings, concerns and thoughts through song, spoken word or just regular conversation. Local artist Demont Peekaso will also create live art work that will later on be auctioned off. All proceeds will be donated to relief efforts in Haiti.
