Club Reality (2623 Washington Blvd) is a favorite spot for many locals who go to watch a football game or catch up with old friends. However, on new years eve it turned into the place to be with a packed club and great food. BmoreFab! correspondent Arli reports on her experience below:
Club Reality is normally my go-to spot to watch the game, enjoy a variety of inexpensive drink specials and eat $1.50 crabs, so I felt very at home there when I went for the New Year’s Eve festivities.
The night started at 6:00 p.m. with the NYE happy hour with a low $2.00 admission. The drink wheel was in full effect (think Wheel of Fortune with drink names instead of dollar amounts). The kitchen was jumping with a full menu and happy hour specials, I saw and smelled all types of food coming out of the kitchen left and right. There were two D.J.’s, one on the lower and the other on the upper level spinning old school favorites of Hip Hop and R&B. The crowd was very laid back and casual with most of the men in jeans and the women in jeans and dresses.
The party started at 10:00 p.m. and the admission was only $20.00 after…reasonably priced for a NYE event. A little before midnight around 11:30 the club was packed and the bartenders were passing out NYE top hats for the gentlemen and feathered tiaras for the ladies. Of course at midnight was the countdown and complementary champagne toast complete with a ceiling balloon drop on both levels. The party didn’t stop at 2:00 a.m., but went on well into New Year’s Day and didn’t end until 5:00 a.m. Club Reality surprised the party people with a breakfast feast of eggs, bacon, home fries and pancakes (yummm)…a great end to a fun night.
